Shameless Self Promotion Should Be Priority 1

I am dinosaur in internet business. I have been out here making my living in cyberspace for nearly 8 years now. I bet you I have touched more than 10 million people in one way or another but I made a very huge mistake.

I hid in the anonymity of the internet. Skulking in forums, hiding out behind web sites and shadowed by joint venture partners.

What in the H E Double hockey sticks was I thinking. I should have been out there shamelessly promoting myself. Here's why:

1. Products come and go. As long as your heart is beating you will always be around. Think about it. My mentors: Willie Crawford, Shawn Casey, the late Corey Rudl and Joe Vitale are all names you may know or will know as you work your business on the internet. They have sold thousands of products. I can think of a few of the products they have promoted but no where near all of them. What is remembered is their names. The powerhouse marketers have branded themselves successful.

When Willie Crawford steps up to the plate and makes a post on one of my favorite internet marketing forums he has about 800 views instantly. Is it because you remember his product or do you recognize his name. His name of course. What ever Willie writes is solid gold no matter what it is. His posts are going to get a look. He will even get sales on his name power alone. Those sales perpetuate his success and the behemoth of his self promotion machine rolls on.

2. Success breeds followers. In my favorite forum someone asked if anyone was really getting rich working on the net. Answer: Heck yes. Some financially some in other ways. I took a chance and shared a little of my fortune. Working totally on the net for 8 years. Cracked the $100K mark per year a time or two. Never sent my kids to daycare one day of their lives. I live on an acreage I paid for and drive a fairly new car. Am I financially set for life. Probably not but I come and go when I please and I earn enough to live pretty comfortably. Simply sharing that success breed followers. I had emails asking me to be their mentor. If I had been sharing my success with others my email list would have exploded. My bank account would probably had flooded. Email list ceomom@getresponse.com

3. Average Joe makes good. The struggle is worth the fight. You might be average now but you are going somewhere good. Take some followers along for the ride. Those followers will build and grow and your urban legend will become the stuff that bank accounts are built on.
